Building surveys

Our aim is to provide our clients with an honest independent survey of all defects to the building and provide a cost effective solution.

Things that we are looking for in a survey include:

Rising/penetrating damp
Rainwater ingress
Atmospheric damp (condensation)
Roofing defects, chimney flashings etc.
Building defects, structural, weatherproofing
Drainage defects
Timber fungi/insect attack

Our qualified surveyor attends all site surveys and personally writes up each report. We cover the northwest of England, from Cheshire to the Scottish borders. Other areas can be accomodated by prior arrangement.

Damp and timber surveys

• Pre-purchase surveys for mortgage lenders

• Sub-floor and attic timber surveys

• Dry rot, wet rot and woodworm

Aerial drone and roof surveys

• Aerial pictures/footage of inaccessible areas

• Chimney and leadwork surveys

• Gutters and rooflines checks

• CAA approved

Invasive surveys

• Removal of skirtings, panels, coverings etc and reinstated by joiner

• Thermal imaging and endoscopes used to identify source of moisture

CCTV Drain

• Inspection of existing drainage

• Locating potential problems before they escalate

Condensation surveys

• Indoor air quality readings

• Existing fans and ducting checked

• Insulation and wall cavity checks

• Supply and installation of PIV units and fans

Cavity wall tie surveys

• Cavities inspected using digital borescopes

Salt testing and gravimetric analysis

• Plaster samples tested for the presence of salts and gravimetric testing to BS 6576 the only accurate method to test capillary moisture

Thermal imaging

• Assessing any cold spots, leaks and missing insultation
